About the Highway Code Explained guides

Is the Highway Code law?

Some rules are legal requirements and use the words MUST or MUST NOT. Other rules use advisory wording such as should or should not, although failing to follow them may still be used as evidence in court proceedings.

Are these Highway Code guides free?

Yes. The guides on this page are free to read. The complete 28-day course and private coaching are optional paid services for learners who want structured or personal support.

Can these guides help with the theory test?

Yes. They explain the knowledge behind theory test questions, making it easier to apply the same rule when a question uses unfamiliar wording or a different road situation.

Do these guides replace the official Highway Code?

No. They are learning aids designed to explain selected rules. You should also use the current official Highway Code and approved revision resources when preparing for your test.

Want a complete route through the theory test?

The free guides explain individual topics. The 28-day course puts the full syllabus into a clear learning order with video lessons, revision resources and practice support.
